Katia and Emma

Tuesday, June 9

How are you? I'm hoping to get another email from you one of these days. Grandpa and I have been enjoying getting outside in the nice warm weather. It hasn't rained here in a long time, and it's been just warm enough to enjoy walking along the beaches and working in the garden. The other day we got a bunch of oysters from the beach at Semi Ahmoo. They were delicious! We're getting spinach from the garden now...yummy! It's so good in salads.

Daddy knows where I put some pictures you might want to look at sometime. Many of them are of Zoey. She's such a pretty dog! We love taking her to the beach so she can swim, or just walking around the village to see her friends (some dogs, but mostly people!).

I hear you might be going camping soon. We haven't been camping in a long time. There's so much else to do around here. But in the fall, we plan on taking a long camping trip to St. Louis to visit Great Grandma Gort. And if we're lucky, we might meet up with Aunt Annie and Uncle Brent for a visit.

I put some more of teh old stories up on the internet. Here are the links!

Lots of love,

Monday, May 10

Hello, Katia and Emma!

It was so good hearing your voices on the phone yesterday. Thank you for making my "Mother's Day" so special.

It was also good to receive your message from the web site. I think it's fun to talk in different ways, by writing letters, talking on the phone, or in person. They're each a little bit different, don't you think? Grandpa really enjoyed your note too.

So you have a wobbly tooth now, Katia? I thought all your baby teeth would be gone by now. Looks like the tooth fairy wants to pay you another visit.

Well, I wondered if you would miss your birthday songs this year. They are pretty silly, aren't they? When I was looking for copies of old stories I came across some videos we did for your birthdays. Now THEY were REALLY funny and silly! But we had fun doing them, and I guess they made you laugh...so we just might have to think up some more songs or videos for your birthdays. Hmmmm...who's birthday is next? I think it's Ian! Well, we owe him a song anyway. He hasn't had as many birthdays as either of you, has he?

Emma, I'd like to see a picture of you and your elephant together. Then I could see how big he really his!

It's really too bad that you lost all of the stories...but I did manage to find most of them here. You'll get some on DVDs by mail, but I've put some of them up on the web site so you can get them right away. Here are the links:

Cow Goes Moo

The Hoodies

Mr. Maxwell's Mouse

Later next week, we'll be going to the library in Blaine and I'll pick out some more books to read to you. I really like reading stories to you, but sometimes I get so busy doing other things that I forget. I'm glad you reminded me.

Well, it's late and almost the end of my "Mother's Day." I enjoyed talking with all of you. Also, Annie and Brent called and sounded very happy. And then Uncle Tom called and we talked for a long time. And Grandpa did all kinds of special things for me today. To make it really perfect, I even had fresh strawberries and ice cream for dessert tonight!

Have a fun visit with Dave and Adele. I know they will love being there and seeing all the sights in Gerona. We'll be back to visit again one of these days...maybe not until next year, cause we have other people to visit too. But let's keep in touch with letters now and then, ok?

Love and kisses,

Grandma (and Grandpa)
