Our favorite is Bluegrass Express at 11:00-1:00 on Sundays, but they offer a nice variety of music you won't hear on mainstream radio.

Area Music Festivals

What's A Bluegrass Festival?
If you've never been to one, prepare for a surprise. Bluegrass festivals are all about acoustic jamming. Some of those who attend never see the onstage performances. All they want to do is jam--play any kind of music they like, be it bluegrass or old-time, country, pop, jazz, you name it. For those who don't play an instrument or sing, it's a great opportunity to camp or spend a day and enjoy the talents of others.

Wintergrass
Feb. 25-28, Hyatt Regency in Bellevue. This is not a typical festival, but a hotel based 4-day jam, workshop and performance session.

Folklife Festival
May 28-31, Seattle.

Bellingham Highland Games
June 5-6, Hovander Park.

Sacajawea Bluegrass Festival

Newport Wa. Bluegrass Festival
Sept. 10-12, 2010 -- No lineup posted yet, but this was a small but very friendly, enjoyable festival last year, and in a very scenic area of Wa. Lots of jamming with the performers, including Down the Road from Dusty Strings in Seattle.
